Oh dear, I have almost forgotten about today! 😂 😂 😂

I have been neglecting my beloved book blog for many months now. I would blame it on my internship, but it’s not all that. I have been taking the time to think about many things. What was my motivation for starting REVENGE OF THE FEELS? Where was the fire I once had in reading novels? Has reviewing novels take away my love for reading?

I have found the answer. It’s a no! 😊

I just need to make time for myself to relax, and when that happens, I would be able to read! Here’s to better time management! Cheers! 🍷

I am grateful to all the authors who have given me advanced reader copies for reviews, and forgive my lateness in writing the reviews. Thank you, to those who have stood by me and helped me through my tough times! Not just through their writing and stories, but for being my friends! Especially to Kimberly Blalock, Liz Lovelock, Aimee Shaye, Kate Reedwood, Michelle Horst, Michelle Irwin, Fabiola Francisco, Sheila Kell, Teri McGill, D.S. To round up, I will be back with a passion in one or two months! A book lover can never stay away from her beloved novels for too long! To everyone who have been with me since day one, thank you for everything! 💕

Title: Je suis à toi (Monsters in the Dark #3.5)
Author: Pepper Winters
Release Date: May 31st 2016

“Life taught me an eternal love will demand the worst sacrifices. A transcendent love will split your soul, cleaving you into pieces. A love this strong doesn’t grant you sweetness—it grants you pain. And in that pain is the greatest pleasure of all.”

Q made me the happiest esclave in the world. He gave me his heart, his empire, his ruthless unforgiving love. And life finally left us in peace.

A man like my maître has special needs though, growing stronger as our lives intertwine. The only way to survive his monster is to agree to all his desires.

Including his latest wish.

I’m his.

And I won’t refuse.

Je suis à toi Teaser 2

“You obeyed me.”

Her head bowed, her legs spreading wider, revealing the gift I worshiped daily between her legs. “I did. I look forward to my reward.”

My lips curled; the darkness enveloped me. The beast inside stretched, unsheathing its claws, lengthening its spine in preparation.

I stalked toward her and fisted her hair. I fell more in love than I already was.

This woman made me come alive. This woman would end up killing me. But my life was already hers, and I would die gratefully on the pyre of her affection.

“Tu connaiss les règles, esclave.” You know the rules.

“What rules, maître?”

“You don’t get your reward until you’ve been punished.”

Her gaze glittered with rebellion and retaliation but not one ounce of fear—the perfect cocktail for a bastard like me. “Go ahead. You’ll never break me.”

“Ah, my sweet, sweet Tess. That might be the case…” I nipped at her bottom lip. “Mais ça ne m’empêchera pas d’essayer.” But it won’t stop me from trying.

Dropping the black bag by her spread legs, I tugged on her right plait. “Up.”

Unfolding immediately, she stood quivering before me. Her chest rose and fell, imprisoned in the dark red bra I’d handpicked for her. Her flat stomach shadowed with faint bruises from previous nights, and I traced the bite mark I’d left on her hipbone after our parlour games.

I wanted to do what I’d planned now. To get it over with before she could have second thoughts. But I restrained myself. Anticipation would make it that much sweeter.

Gripping her jaw, I kissed her with a wet-as-fuck dominating kiss before pushing her backward to the bed.

She obeyed every prompt. Falling onto the bedspread, she watched me with desire-glittering eyes.

This room was very much like our assigned accommodation, only smaller. The fireplace roared with heat and the four-poster bed hung with midnight blue drapery rather than forest green.

My jeans and t-shirt became too tight as my body prepared to tease and torture.

Tess squirmed on the mattress as I moved toward her and yanked her up the bed by her arms. The moment she was in the middle, I uncoiled a piece of Japanese silk rope from my pocket and looped it around her wrist.

With a sharp smile, I secured her to one of the four bedposts.

It was a risk tying her down like this. After all, she’d done the same to me when I’d given her my nightmares to hopefully break hers. However, no memory of that day hovered in her gaze. Her skin already flushed with lust as I fastened her other wrist and moved toward her ankles.

She didn’t speak—she was too well trained—but her eyes never left my ministrations.

She gasped as my fingers ran around her ankle, cupping her heel protectively before wrenching her legs apart and securing them as tight as her wrists.

Once finished, she lay spread-eagled with no hope of escape.

I stood and surveyed my fucking delicious woman. The lingerie barely hid her bare pussy, shadowing it in red lace while her bra couldn’t hide the pinpricks of nipples begging me to bite.

Running a fingertip from her instep to her clit, I murmured, “So pretty and no chance of running. What shall I do with you?”

Her hands fisted, her lips parting with breath. “Anything…do anything you want.”

“Anything?” My fingers pinched her pussy, indenting her soft flesh with the lace protecting her.

She gasped, white cheeks flushing so prettily. The scrap of material couldn’t hide how wet and hot she was, drenching the delicate underwear. Her desire matched mine. I was rock-fucking-hard for her.

“I’ll give you a choice, Tess.” Rubbing her pussy, I pressed hard and swift. “Pain or pleasure first? You make the call.”

Her back bowed as I stabbed at her entrance, prevented from entering her by the lacy garment. Soon, that bastard chastity belt would have to be sliced away. But for now, it kept me focused. Gave me a barrier I wasn’t permitted to break.

Her eyes switched from dove-grey to dark blizzard. “Pain…I pick pain first.”

I shook my head, stealing my hand from her core and bending to unzip my black bag. “Wrong choice.”

This is definitely the FIRST time I have seen and went for a book signing event in Singapore!

It is a really rare opportunity for Singaporean readers to see their favourite authors here, so I would like to thank Miss Sarah J. Maas for coming here and also, Penguin Books SG and Popular bookstores for bringing the Throne of Glass author here!

It was thanks to Adelena from A Page of Heaven, that I know about the Throne of Glass series and I confess, I have only just started the first book in the series.

Let me just say that 5 chapters into the first book, I am already HOOKED!

Now, onto the book signing event that took place at Popular bookstore in Jurong Point Shopping Mall, Singapore!

Here’s a look at the signing event before the arrival of our beloved author!

SJMaas Sharing Session

There was a short interview from the bloggers at A Page of Heaven, followed by Q&A from the fans! One of the most memorable question from one of the fans was: if Caelena were to use Tinder, which celebrities would she follow?

Sarah: Caelena would probably be boy-crazy. Henry Cavill, Scott Eastwood and the actor who played Bellamy in The 100!

After that, there was an special event where Miss Sarah will pick a piece of paper from a bag of questions and answer them!

This is one of my favourite part, because who else better than the author knows the personalities of her own characters?

(Disclaimer: The writing below is based on what I can remember from the event itself. It is not the exact words that Miss Sarah J. Maas, the interviewers and the fans said!)

Question: iPhone 7 just launched! Who will be the first to get it?
Answer: DORIAN! He gets all the fine stuff!

Question: If Caelena, Chaol, Dorian and Rowan were to go in an amusement park, what would they do?
Answer: Caelena would probably go on all the rides at at least 3 times or until she pukes and Rowan would be there to pet her back and say, “I told you so”. Dorian would probably go on all the rides and eat all the candy and Chaol would be his wingman. Then on the way back, Caelena and Chaol would probably be sick in the backseats while Rowan would be driving, and Dorian would be saying, “Lets do it again!”

There are more than just those questions and really, Miss Sarah is one the most fun and humourous person I have ever met!

SJM signing

Here’s Miss Sarah hard at work, signing for all her fans!

I would just like to point out that I was a complete mess in front of her, and I was probably mumbling gibberish while my heart was beating really fast! Yes, as some of you may have guess…

Miss Sarah is really friendly and she makes small talk with her readers while signing the books!

For those of you who did not get a chance to see her at Jurong Point, there is another signing at Kinokuniya Bookstore, Singapore on March 11, 2016 at 19:00!

Happy Valentine’s Day and…Happy Birthday Everyone!

Hi, hello bookies and readers!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Chocolates and flowers, friends and lovers!

This is not just a day for lovers, but also for everyone to show love for their family, friends and themselves! So what are you guys doing for this day? ❤

For me, it’s definitely studying time and…*whispers* writing on Wattpad!

(Shhhh! I’m a little embarrassed by what I wrote, but I welcome all comments!)

Coincidentally, this year’s Renri (人日) falls on the same day as Valentine’s Day!

Now, some of you may ask. What is 人日?

Chinese New Year, also known as Lunar New Year, is a 15-day celebration of the new year in the Lunar Calendar! Officially, there are only two days for everyone. In the Lunar Calendar, we celebrate Chinese New Year over a span of 15 days!

The 7th day is known as 人日, the romanization form is Renri. The literal translation for this is “Human Day”. On this day, it is EVERYONE’s birthday!

So happy birthday everyone! Enjoy Valentine’s Day and “Renri“!

First Touch Teaser 3

First Touch Teaser 4

The first time I shared a man with Amber had been on my seventeenth birthday.

She’d been hanging around the neighborhood for the better part of the six months before that, and we’d become friends. We had the same taste in food and music and movies and, unlike the other girls we knew, we both preferred a line of coke to a bowl of weed. “Champagne taste,” Amber would say. “That’s us.”

Though we were both the same age, our lives had been very different. I’d go to school during the day, trying to pretend that my grades were salvageable as she’d watched The Home Shopping Network and ate Cheetos on the neighbor’s couch. Amber had dropped out of high school, and since she’d also runaway from home, no one was pushing her to go while graduation was the one thing my mother demanded of me.

I’d hated everything back then. School. My mother. My neighborhood. My body. Everything but Amber. She’d been fun. Sassy. Sexy. She was electric and electrifying and everything I wanted to be. And she cared for me. Maybe even loved me. If I had gone to a shrink they probably would have said that was why I latched onto her—that I thought of her as the mother mine had never been. I knew how screwed up everything seemed. But who could ever know why a person fell for another? I only knew that I had been dull and dim and that Amber made me less so.

She’d also had things I didn’t. Things that money bought. The clothes she wore were designer, her nails were always done. She’d lowered her panties once to show me her Brazilian. Whenever I’d asked how she paid for things, she’d always answered simply, “My uncle.” Even as we’d grown closer to each other that was all she’d tell me about the mysterious relative.

“For your birthday,” she’d said two days before, “I’ve got a surprise. Plan to spend the weekend with me.”

So that Friday, I slipped out of school early and met Amber at the bus station where she purchased two tickets to Santa Monica. Though I couldn’t get her to give me even a hint as to where we were going or what we were doing, I spent the two-hour bus ride buzzing with excitement. Whatever Amber had in mind, I knew without a doubt that this trip would be the beginning of the next phase of my life. I was ready. I was so ready.

Outside the station in Santa Monica, Amber bummed a smoke off a street musician and I scanned the street, taking in the sights of a place I’d never been. A red convertible parked nearby caught my attention, more specifically, the man leaning against it. He was older, maybe as old as my mother, but attractive. Not because he was all that good looking, exactly—though his body was definitely fit and trim—but because of what he exuded. Confidence. Assurance. Money. He drew my attention, and in the way that a restless, sexually charged young girl often did, I found myself wondering about him. What it would be like to kiss a man like him. What it would feel like to be beneath him. I’d had plenty of sex before. With boys from school. I’d yet to meet one who knew what he was doing, and though I would never have admitted it out loud, I was dying for it, thoughts of it never far from my mind.

When Amber followed the line of my sight, she dropped her cigarette with a squeal and exclaimed, “There he is, Em! Come on.”

“There who is?” I asked as she tugged me toward the very man I’d been staring at.

“My uncle!” After throwing her duffle bag into the back seat, she jumped into the man’s arms, wrapping her legs around his waist. Then she proceeded to make out with him like I’d done on more than one occasion with the boys under the bleachers at school. Never out on a public street. Never with a man who had to shave everyday.

When they had finished their display and Amber was back on her feet again, she made introductions. “Rob this is Emily. Em, Rob.”

He may have said something to me. I didn’t really know because I’d been too busy staring at her, my jaw gaping.

“Oh, Emily, he’s not really my uncle,” she told me as she jumped into the passenger seat. “Get in.”

She’d misread the cause of my surprise. I grinned—only one of the many times I’d grin that day—and climbed in the backseat. If Amber hadn’t been the coolest person I’d ever met before that moment, she’d certainly proven herself now.

About the author:

Laurelin PaigeLaurelin Paige is the NY Times, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today Bestselling Author of the Fixed Trilogy. She’s a sucker for a good romance and gets giddy anytime there’s kissing, much to the embarrassment of her three daughters. Her husband doesn’t seem to complain, however. When she isn’t reading or writing sexy stories, she’s probably singing, watching Game of Thrones and the Walking Dead, or dreaming of Michael Fassbender.
